Blissful Hips! A Hip Opening Workshop
The activities and stresses of our daily lives can often lead to tightness and discomfort in our hips. Our hips are designed to be fluid and active. However, with excessive sitting (at a desk, driving) running, cycling etc, this often isn't the case. Emotions can be stored deep within this area. Opening the hips can clear the 1st and 2nd chakras which lessens stress and get your creative juices flowing. Come experience the freeing physical and emotional benefit of digging deep then letting go.
This workshop will focus on ways to ease some of that tension using yoga poses that promote hip flexibility and strength. If you are interested in exploring ways to improve hip mobility or simply deepen your yoga practice then this workshop is for you. Flexible hips take the pressure off the knees and alleviate low back tension. On an energetic level, the hips are the seat of our creative power and flexible hips help us to let go of stress and anxiety for greater peace in our lives.
Many of our negative emotions like to live in places in our bodies where they can hide out: places that get the least amount of stretching and release. While a hip opening posture may feel intense in the moment, they lways feel so much better afterwards!
We will begin this workshop with any questions you might have, flow through a warm up sequence which will help open the hips, then practice many hip opening poses and finish with a sweet relaxation.
